ShiiJei asked:

I would really like to know what the real information is and where I can buy one that looks just like the real thing, not the fakes they sell to kids. Does anyone have a picture of a real army dog tag for US soldiers either in the navy, or army?

Also what is the United States Armed Forces?

Your full name, SSN, your blood type and religious preference. You will also have a red dog tag if you have any allergies (aspirin, penicillin, etc.)

why would you want a pair of real dog tags if you don’t even know what the united states armed forces is?

Robin is a fool. It’s name, social security number, date of birth, blood type and religion of choice. The military services are collectively known as the Armed Forces - Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard.

The services are moving away from the dog tags to a much more complete electronic ID that includes one’s military specialty, one’s complete medical records, one’s marital status and whether one has children, and the record of one’s time in whichever branch of the Armed Forces he or she served in…one’s promotions, demotions, awards and decorations, one’s disciplinary record…you can find blank ID tags in military surplus stores, buy one and have whatever data you wish engraved on it.

You can get dog tags made at any military surplus store. They include name, SSN, branch of service, blood type, and religious preference.

United States Armed Forces refers to the branches of the military: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard.

I will not post pictures of mine, due to the fact they have my name and SSN; a bit too personal.

I am looking at my dog tags right now and here is whats on it in order:
Full name
Social Security Number
Blood Type
Religious Preference.

The tags themselves are made from thin cheap metal. So don’t expect anything too fancy compared to the the fakes they sell to kids.
