These need to be inexpensive. They are for church camp - but the theme is kind of military.

Look at the site below:

Perhaps you could create the tags, copy and paste, print them on paper and laminate them — surely that would do for camp use.

Well, first buy some camouflage scrapbook paper. Then cut them to be about this big and this shape:

Then, I would cut out some cardboard in the same shape and glue it to the back so its stronger. Then put some more of the camoflauge paper to cover the cardboard. Lastly, wirte the children’s names on their tags.

If you want to make some frome scratch, you could first cut out the shape on a thin piece of cardboard/paperboard. then you can cover it with aluminum foil! (might be rather time consuming, though)

You can get the real dog tag and have it engraved (3 lines) at Walmart for $4 each - that might be too much though but if the parents are willing to chip in this is something there kid can keep and use after the camp.

It’s usefull for young ones in case they get lost. Engrave the kid name, phone number and/or address. Our kids wear them on their shoes.
There is a kiosk, usually near the customer service area.

Here are some dog tags that you can personalize with a marker.
They have several on this website if you do a search for dog tags.

Another idea is to buy some gray colored foam paper and cut out the shape you want and punch a hole in the top and attach some yarn. You could get several out of one sheet.
