Liz M asked:
My boyfriend is comming back from the army and wants me to wear his dog tags. I really want to but I have a problem. I am allergic to nickel. As far as the tags themself I think I will be okay because they have silencers on them but the chain is a completely different story. I need ideas on how to either make the chain nickel free or ideas on a completely new chain all together. I am open to any and all ideas just please help me out.

Get some 550 cord (your BF will know what it is) and gut it (meaning pull the inner strands out of the cord) and feed the chain through. once the chain is in, melt the ends so they don’t fray.
One warning about wearing someone else’s dogtags….if his blood type is different than yours, and you are in an accident. You could be given the wrong blood type in an emergency…
Make sure you indicate that the dogtags aren’t yours by tying a yellow ribbon on the tag, or the chain above the tag.
Get a free Navy key-ring and put them on.
An Army of One key-ring works.
